"Things which are hidden belong to Adonai our God. But the things that have been revealed belong to us and our children forever, so that we can observe all the words of this Torah." Dvarim (Deuteronomy) 29:28(29) CJB

There are many things that are unknown to us. Even when we study prophecy, it is difficult to reach the same conslusion. For example, people have different interpretations of who the two witnesses in Revelation are. Many of the theories regarding this are Bible based, yet a unanimous conclusion hasn't been reached. In the end, at the given moment, God will reveal that mystery. So as we can see, secret things such as this and other prophecies (like the date of the 2nd coming of Messiah) belong to God.
In contrast, God's law isn't written in code. Rather it is very explicit and detailed. Why? So we know exactly how to live the life God wants us to live. This belongs to us and to all our generations. Now, that doesn't mean that we shouldn't study prophecy. On the contrary, as said in Mishlei (Proverbs) 25:2 "... it is the glory of kings to search out a matter." Therefore, studying and understanding prophecy is important, but the keeping of Torah (God's law) is ESSENTIAL.

So let's focus on living a Torahful life and allow God to reveal to us the "secret" things as we study scripture.
