Devotional

"The clever see trouble coming and hide; the simple go on and pay the penalty." Mishlei (Proverbs) 22:3 and 27:12
One must be extremely cautious when making a decision or acting upon something. In other words, one must consider the possible out of a decision and/or action and if that will affect that individual or others. These verses (which are written out the same) are a clear warning against impulsivity.

Being impulsive is very dangerous. Rash decisions and actions without thinking them through can lead to terrible consequences. It's even worse when it affects somebody who innocently puts their trust in you.

Being prudent and cautious will help avoid trouble and will help get out of trouble. Make sure you pray before you make a decision, before you say something important or before you act upon something.
